busyout pms-link
This command places all m aintenance objects assoc iated with a prop erty
management system link in the maintenanc e busy state. No periodic or
scheduled maintenanc e is performed on the busied out maintenance o bjects
until they are released. When the object is maintena nce busy the objec t is
deactivated (no c all processing ac tivity may include the b usied object) a nd the
link is dropped . Warning alarms (error type 18) are g enerated on each busi ed out
maintenance object, so that I NADS can determine the state of the obj ects. The
command, release pms link, reactivates the busied out ob jects on the link.
These links provide asynchronous d ata connections from switche s to
peripherals; they are comp osed of a:
Far-end data module
Simulated data channel
Manager that initiates and maintains the li nk
Controller/protocol that services the link
For information on PMS, see the description of the ‘‘status pms- link’’ command.
Feature Interactions
Maintenance of a partic ular component on a link sometimes inte rferes with the
maintenance of the link itself. For example, maintenanc e can put a link
component in a busy stat e causing link set-up to fail . Frequent attempts at
re-setup of a link may delay the recover y of a faulty component, d ue to the
maintenance test of a comp onent only taking place when the component is idle.
Therefore, disable the attempted re-setup of a link with the busyout command
and the link will remain intact. If the link is alread y down, the busyout c ommand
stops periodic re-setup attempts on the link.
