TONE-BD (Tone-Clock Circuit Pack)
The Tone-Clock circuit pack functionality is p rovided by two ind ependent objects
in the same circuit pac k. The tone generator provides all the tones need ed by the
system and the clock g enerates the system clocks for the Time Division M ultiplex
(TDM) Bus and aids in monitoring and selecting internal synchroniza tion
references.
When resolving errors/alarms on the Tone-Clock circuit pac k, the following
should be used also:
TONE-PT (Tone Generator) Maintenance doc umentation.
TDM-CLK (TDM Bus Clock) Maintenance documenta tion.
SYNC (Synchronization) Maintenance documentation.
The TN2182 is a combined Tone-Clock/Detector circu it pack that contains 8
ports used for all-p urpose tone detection. These ports are c alled Enhanced Tone
Receiver ports (ETR-PT) and are described in the d ocumentation for ETR-PT.

Tone-Clock Circuit Packs

CMC systems have one Tone-Clock circuit pac k in each port network. This is in
the A carrier. This Tone-Clock circuit pack g enerates clocks and p rovides system
tones for all carriers of the port ne twork it resides on.

Italian Tone Settings (New ISPT Value)

The TN2182 allows International changes, but allows the customization of up to
24 system tones in order to meet spec ific country needs. These c hanges are
made via the change system-parameters country-options form.
