Analog Tie Trunk Back-to-Back Testing
The TN760B circuit pack can b e configured for ba ck-to-back testing (al so known
as connectivity testing ) by making translation and c ross-connect chang es. This
testing configuration al lows for the connection of Tie Trunks back-to-bac k in the
same switch to verify the operation of Tie Trunk ports. The tests can b e
performed in either the E & M or simp lex modes.
E & M Mode Test Procedure
The procedures to perform the Analog Tie Trunk port test in the E & M mode are
as follows:
1. At the administration terminal, enter list configuration trunks comm and
to determine which p orts are assigned on the Tie Trunk circuit pack.
2. Enter display dialplan command to determine the Trunk Access Cod e
(TAC) format.
3. Enter display port xx command for all ports defined in Step 1. This action
displays the trunk group s to which the ports belon g (that is, of which the
ports are members).
NOTE:
See the ‘‘Control Circuit Packs’’ section in this chap ter for details on
how to remove and replace p ort circuit packs.
4. Insert the circuit pac k back into the slot.
5. Enter display trunk xx p command for each trunk group identified in Step
3. This command displays the sp ecified trunk group on the administration
terminal screen and prints a hard copy on the printer . Save this data for
later use.
6. Remove all members defined b y these ports from the trunk group(s) u sing
the ch trunk xx command.
7. Remove the Tie Trunk circuit pack from the carrier slot.
