7. Remove the backup translation c ard and insert the origina l translation
card.
8. Label the backup translation card with the date and time it was updated. A
special notation on the c ard clearly disting uishes it from other cards.
9. Store the backup translation card in a secure place.
Translation Card Errors
Translation card-related failures may occur for two reasons: the c ard is at fault, or
the Processor circuit pac k is at fault. The following is a list of the error messages
and recommended responses to each.
1. Cannot access file storage area—Implies that the wrong
translation card may be in stalled.

Response:

Check to see which translation c ard is installed. If the correc t
one is installed, test it by using the test card-mem command.
2. Cannot turn on 12 volt power supply—Implies that something
may be wrong with the Processor circ uit pack that contains the p ower
supply.

Response:

Test the 12-volt power supply by entering the test card-mem
command from the terminal. Executing this command causes the system
to run Test 701 (12 Volt Power Supply Test). If the power supply test fails,
replace the Processor circ uit pack. Then repeat whichever c ommand
failed.
3. Invalid directory on Card-Mem — The translation card needs
refreshing. Run test card-mem and be sure all tests pass.
4. Card-Mem is unusable — Something is wrong with the translation
card. Replace the translation c ard.
5. Could not write to Card-Mem — Something is wrong with the
translation card. Test the translation card.
6. Request is incompatible with currently running
operations — The storage system is in use. Try again later.
7. Card-Mem is not inserted in the system — Insert the translation
card.
8. Cannot access file; wrong type of Card-Mem is inserted
— The correct translation card for t he desired operation has not b een
inserted. Load the ap propriate translation card .
9. File size exceeded — There is no more file space. Call your Lucent
Technologies representative.
10. Upgrade Memory Card inserted — The system upgrade translation
card may have been inser ted instead of the translations c ard. Insert the
translation card.
