Administrable Loss Plan
The administrable Loss Plan feature provides the user with the capability to
administer the loss or gain ap plied on calls. This p lan provides for dynamic
administration of loss levels per s tation, using 2- party loss tab les, and an
algorithm that calculates 3, 4, 5, and 6-party conference loss plans. Such a
feature can be used to p rovide additional g ain, for example, on connec tions
involving station sets whose users have hearin g impairments.
Implementation of this plan involves the ad dition of a new field, Digital Loss
Plan Modifications: on the system-parameters customer options form.
Trac er ou te
This command provides the ab ility to trace the route of pac kets originated from
DEFINITY IP boards through the LAN. The output shows the ip address of eac h
router or host (hop) that the pac kets encounter and the time elap sed between
each hop. If a DEFINITY IP board has trouble communicating with a far-end
device, the traceroute c ommand can deter mine “how far” pac kets get toward
the destination.
DEFINITY IP boards include:
TN799B (or later suffix) CLAN board
TN802B Medpro board
The output form lists:
Hops traversed from source to d estination
IP addresses of the hop points and the final destination
Observed round-trip delay from the source to each hop point
If no reply is received from a p otential hop point, the IP Address field contains
stars (*), which indic ates a timeout condition.
The primary use of this command is to determine quickly and unambiguously if
the fault lies within Lucent-provided equipment or if the fault is with the LAN or
LAN administration to which the DEFINITY ECS switch is connected.
Incomplete Command Timeout
A time -out f eatu re has been add ed t o the MAINTEN ANCE-REL ATED SYSTEM
PARAMETERS form (accessed by the command change system parameters
maintenance). This feature improves the operation of daily mai ntenance by
allowing maintenance routines to run that mig ht otherwise not run. It also helps to
prevent the loss of translations that were not saved by the save translation
command, and were also not sa ved because d aily maintenance was prevented
from running prior to the system reset. Hig hlights of the feature include:
