Session Status Test (#1286)

This no n-de struc tive test d eter mine s the s tatus of all PPP port sessi ons. Th is tes t

queries the system software on port ses sion status.

1007 FAIL Ping to the destination failed due to the destination down.

1. A PPP d estin ation o r a co mpone nt in th e pat h (e.g ., DS1 tr unk) m ay be

down. Check the status of t he destination or other comp onents in the

path.

2. If the destination and all components in the path are in-service, ping

the PPP destinations (ping ip-address

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

).

3. Escalate if the problem persists.

PASS TCP/IP Ping Test (#1281) is successful.

If the system software indicates that: Then the switch:

All port sessions are up (ALL UP) Raises no alarm, or retires alarm

Some port sessions are up (SOME UP) Raises MINOR alarm

All port sessions are down (ALL DOWN) Raises MINOR alarm
