If a local-as is configured, BGP does not allow for the configuration of BGP confederation. Similarly, if BGP confederation is configured, then BGP does not allow the configuration of local-as.

This command automatically restarts the neighbor session for the configuration to take effect.

bgp four-octet-as-support — enables 4-byte support for the BGP process.

neighbor maximum-prefix

Control the number of network prefixes received.

To return to the default values, use the no neighbor {ip-addresspeer- group-name}maximum-prefixmaximum command.

Parameters

Enter the IP address of the neighbor in dotted decimal

ip-address

 

format.

peer-group-

Enter the name of the peer group.

name

 

maximum

Enter a number as the maximum number of prefixes allowed

 

for this BGP router. The range is from 1 to 4294967295.

threshold

(OPTIONAL) Enter a number to be used as a percentage of

 

the maximum value. When the number of prefixes reaches

 

this percentage of the maximum value, the E-Series software

 

sends a message. The range is from 1 to 100 percent. The

 

default is 75.

warning-only

(OPTIONAL) Enter the keyword warning-onlyto set the

 

router to send a log message when the maximum value is

 

reached. If this parameter is not set, the router stops peering

 

when the maximum number of prefixes is reached.
