Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)

The commands in this chapter configure and monitor the IEEE 802.1d spanning tree protocol (STP) and are supported on the Dell Networking switch/routing platform.

bridge-priority

Set the bridge priority of the switch in an IEEE 802.1D spanning tree.

Syntaxbridge-priority {priority-value primary secondary}

To return to the default value, use the no bridge-prioritycommand.

Parameters

priority-value

Enter a number as the bridge priority value. The range is

 

from 0 to 65535. The default is 32768.

primary

Enter the keyword primary to designate the bridge as the

 

root bridge.

secondary

Enter the keyword secondary to designate the bridge as a

 

secondary root bridge.
