Note that:

Up to 10 global unicast addresses and site-local addresses can be configured on an interface in total.

The undo ipv6 address command without parameters removes all IPv6 addresses manually configured, except link-local addresses automatically configured on the interface.

Example # Set the global unicast address of interface Ethernet 1/1 to 2001::1/64.

Description

Use the ipv6 address auto link-localcommand to enable the device to

 

automatically create a link-local address for an interface.

 

Use the undo ipv6 address auto link-local command to remove the

 

automatically created link-local address.

 

By default, a link-local address will automatically be generated when an IPv6

 

site-local address or IPv6 global unicast address is configured for an interface.

# Enable interface Ethernet 1/1 to create a link-local address automatically.

undo ipv6 address ipv6-address/prefix-length eui-64

Ethernet interface view

Parameter

ipv6-address/prefix-length: IPv6 address and prefix length. They together specify

 

the prefix of an IPv6 address in the EUI-64 format. The prefix length of an EUI-64

 

address ranges from 1 to 64.
