5. Audits
As part of periodic maintenance, the hardware status aud it test queries
programmable terminals to d etermine which levels and/or op tions are
being used. If the rep orted values are not equal to the adm inistered
values, the system will initiate a terminal download ac tion. This audit does
NOT check the parameters used for softkeys.
6. Activation of TTI
A terminal is downloaded automatically when it is activated u sing the
Terminal Translation Initialization feature. Therefore, no special user
actions are required for TTI.
NOTE:
Plugging the station co rd into a terminal does not automatic ally
cause the terminal to be d ownloaded. If this terminal has fac tory
defaults or if the terminal has been previously downloaded with
parameters different than those desired , use one of the demand
download actions d escribed bel ow to download the terminal.
Demand Download Actions
1. Busyout/Release Command
A maintenance demand b usyout/release request for a station will cause
the terminal to be download ed regardless of its previous d ownload status.
2. Feature Access Code
A Refresh Terminal Parameters Feature Access Code can be used to
request a terminal download action. When this code is followed b y a "#",
the programmable p arameters for the current terminal are download ed
when the terminal goes on hook. When this cod e is followed by an
extension, the programmable p arameters for the specified station are
downloaded.
This Refresh Terminal Parameters Feature Access Code is assig ned on
the second page of the "feature-access-codes" screen.
A confirmation is returned if the d ownload request is acc epted. A busy
tone is returned if the request is mad e from a different station when the
target station is off-hook.
The first three green call appearanc e LEDs on the 84xx 603x terminal will
be turned on for three sec onds if the station was success fully downloaded
as a result of an entry of a Refresh Terminal Parameters Facility Access
Code. This is not true for the 302B1 terminal.
There is no visible display on a station for the ot her background or
demand download actions. As describ ed below, the "status station" and
"status attendant" screens can be used to c heck the download status of a
specified ter minal.
