11. Replace the DS1- CONV
hardware Remove the 4 TN574 or TN1654 DS1-CONV circuit
packs and Y-cables and replac e with Expansion
Interface circuit packs.
NOTE:
The TN1654 and TN574 DS1-CONV boards
use unique “Y” cables that are incompatible
with each other. Reuse these cab les only with
the proper circ uit pack.
12. Wait for circuit packs to
reset Red and Green LEDs light then go out.
13. change circuit-pack
cabinet Re-administer the slots formerly occupied with
DS1-CONV circuit packs:
Remove the DS1-CONV administration for the 4
designated circuit packs and add Expansion
Interface (EI) administration for those slots.
Change the SNI administration if you upgraded
those circuit packs to TN573B in Step 9.
Press Ent er.
14. Check fiberoptic cable
connections Ensure that the fiberoptic cables are securely
connected to the lightwave transceivers that are
attached to the designated circ uit packs through
the connections on the back of the cabinet.
