Memory RAM Checksum Test (#903)
This test computes the chec ksum of the system software text module. This test is
only run when the Memory circuit p ack in slot one is being tested . If this test fails,
the RAM is corrupt. It does NOT indic ate a hardware problem.
DO NOT REPLACE the Memory circuit pack when this is the only error or failing
test.
For systems equipped with th e Standard Reliability configura tion, do a system
restart (enter reset system 4) as soon as possible. For systems equipped with
the High Reliability or Critical Reliab ility configuration, p erform the following steps
as soon as possible:
1. Busyout the standby SPE (enter busyout spe-standby).
2. Reb oot th e stan db y SPE (ent er reset spe-standby 4).
3. Wait f or the stan dby SPE to reb oot ( abo ut 5 mi nutes ).
4. Loc k the stand by SPE into a ctiv e mod e usi ng th e SPE-SELEC T switc hes
on the DUPINT circuit packs. This will cause the new active SPE to
perf orm C OLD re set an d th e new s tand by SPE w ill p erfo rm a re boot
FAIL The audit detected one or more single or multiple bit errors on the indicated
Memory circuit pack(s).
1. Retry the command.
2. If the test continues to fail, replace the affected Memory circuit p ack.
3. If the test continues to fail after replacing the Memory circ uit pack, replace
the Processor circuit pack. To replace the circuit packs, use the procedure
described in
Repla cing SPE Circ uit Pac ks
in Chapter 5.
PASS The Memory does not contain any single or multiple bit errors.
