This command allows the user to administer whether certain alarms are reported
to INADS or whether they are downgraded to a minor alarm, warning alarm, or no
alarm.

Description
This special command e nables the technician (that is, remo te user with INADS
permission) to select whic h types of maintenance c ategories report alarms
automatically and whic h types require the customer to c all in. Judicious use of
this command can red uce the number of ineffect ive alarms to the TSC. For the
set options command to be effec tive, the default settings sp ecified in this
section should always be used. These settings are not intended to be changed
on a per-system basis. Spec ial circumstances (f or example, special stud ies) may
require temporary changes under the guidance of Tiers 3 and 4.
NOTE: Alarms can’t be upgrad ed.
Defaults
Initially, the alarm reporting options for On-b oard Trunk Alarms (Alarm Group 1),
both Major and Minor, are set to “y es” (y); all others are set to “warning ” (w). All
trunk groups are associated with alarm severity group 1 b y default.
