2. Power down the port network.
3. Replace all of the TDM/LAN Cable Assembli es and both TDM/LAN Bus
Terminators.
4. Restore power to the port network.
5. Run the test tdm P command to determin e if the TDM Bus fault is still
present.
command to determin e if the TDM Bus fault is still present.
6. If the TDM Bus fault is resolved, the proced ure is completed. Otherwise,
go to Part 2.
Processor Port Network:
1. Terminate the TDM Bus so that it extends only across the Active SPE
control carrier.
2. Determine if the TDM Bus fault is still present by running the test tdm P
comm and. While the TDM bus is ext ende d on ly ac ross SPE c ont rol
carriers the non-control channel test (#297) will not run on the non-control
channel because of the ab sence of a Tone Detector on the shortened b us.
After the TDM Bus tests are run once, run the set tdm PC co mmand to
move the control channel to the non-ac tive bus (the status
port-network P command will show which b us is currently active). After
the bus switch has occ urred, run the
command will show whic h bus is currently active ). After the bus switch has
occurred, run the test tdm P c ommand again to dete rmine if the newly
active bus is faulted.
3. If none of the TDM Bus tests fail, extend the TDM Bus to another carrier. If
that carrier is an SPE control carrier, repeat this proc edure beginning at
step 2. If the carrier is not an SPE control carrier, the test tdm P command
only needs to be executed once since there is now a Tone Detector
present on the bus and b oth the control and non-c ontrol channels will be
tested in one test sequence.
4. If some of the TDM Bus tests fail, and since Proced ures 2 and 3 have not
resolved the problem, the ad ded carrier(s) are d efective and must b e
replaced .
Expansion Port Networks:
1. Terminate the TDM Bus so that it extends only across the carrier that
contains the Active Expansion Interfac e.
