ping node-name
This command performs a p ing test exactly like the ping ip-address c ommand,
except you enter an admini stered node-name (display node-names).
Output
The command output looks the same as Screen 8-4.
recycle carrier
recycle carrier UUC
The recycle carrier command turns power off, then bac k on, on a specific c arrier.
When a power unit is replaced in a carrier, this command must b e entered to
restart the power on that carrier. The following c arriers cannot be recyc led:
PPN Control Carrier (active or standby)
Switch Node Carrier
EPN Control Carrier
Any carrier holding an ac tive Tone-Clock or an active Expansion Interface
circuit pack
!CAUTION:

When a port carrier is recyc led, all ports and ad juncts support ed by circuit

packs on that carrier und ergo a service outag e.

!CAUTION:

Never recycle power to a c arrier containing DEFINITY AUDIX

TN566/TN2169 circuit packs without first shutti ng down the AUDIX system.

Doing so can damag e AUDIX software. Follow instructions on the

TN566/TN2169 faceplate (these also appear under ADXDP-PT in

Chapter
9, ‘‘ABRI-PORT (ASAI ISDN-BRI Port)’’

). On G3r V1 systems, the

TN566/TN2169 may appear as a TN746 with a vintage greater than 50.
