The test environment co mmand performs hardwa re diagnostic tests of the
environment monitoring and control, a nd emergency transfer func tions of a
specified c abinet. This command tests b oth PPN and EPN cabinets. Circuit
pac ks inv olved are t he SYSAM ( PPN) EPN M ainte nanc e, and ton e/cl ock ( for th e
ring generator test.
!CAUTION:

The long test recyc les power on all port c ircuit pack c arriers and is

destructive. It does not rec ycle power on active or stand by PPN or EPN

control carriers or switch no de carriers. When a port c arrier is recycled, all

service and links to por ts on the carrier are dropp ed. If a carrier con taining

an active EI or tone-clock is rec ycled, all service to that c abinet will be

disrupted.

Note that although the CUST-ALARM maintenance object is p art of the
environment functionality, it is not actually tested using the ‘test maintenance’
command. See ‘test customer-alar m’ for details on testing this p articular MO.
Output
The following display shows a typ ical result when test environment 1 is entered
in order to test the PPN cabinet.
Error Code A system-generated numb er that tells why the release failed or abort ed.
A detailed list of the cod es according to “Test No.” is provided for each
MO.
