b. Error type 18 is logged when maintenance personnel busyout the port.
maintenance personnel. The port is released from busyout via the release
port UUCSSpp command.
c. The circuit p ack has been removed or has been insane for more than 11
minutes. To clear the error, reinsert or replace the circuit p ack.
d. The EPF has been turned off due to an overcurrent c ondition at the voice
terminal. Check for defec tive wiring or a damaged jac k, and verify that the
voice terminal is an MET set. Once the prob lem is resolved, the system
retires the alarm after a predetermined time delay.
e. The EPF inquiry audit has returned ‘‘epf-no-load’’ mess ages. This usually
indicates that the voice te rminal has been disconnec ted or that there is a
defect in the wiring to the terminal. Check out both possib ilities.
When the EPF inquiry audit subsequently receives an ‘‘ep f-on-ok’’ or an
‘‘epf-off-ok’’ message, the system will take ac tion to retire the alarm.
f. The port has reported a problem with the data link to the voic e terminal.
Ignore this error if there are no complaints ab out the voice terminal.
Otherwise, make sure the voice terminal is c onnected, chec k for defective
wiring, check for a d efective voice terminal, and decrease the length of
the wiring between the voice terminal and the switch. If the prob lem
persists, replace the c ircuit pack.
g. The voice terminal went off-hook while it was in the ready-for-service state.
Use the status system command to d etermine the state of the voice
terminal. The off-hook should have moved the station to in- service. No
repair action is necessary.
h. This code is generated when the link between the circuit pack and the
voice terminal is succ essfully reset. No repair action is necess ary.
i. The hardware sent an uplink message indicating that the Electric Power
Feed (EPF) is not loaded, that is, it is not currently supp lying power to a
voice terminal. No repair ac tion is necessary.

Always investigate tests in the order p resented in the table below when
inspecting errors in the sys tem. By clearing error codes assoc iated with the
Port Diagnostic Test,
for example, you may also clear errors g enerated from other
tests in the testing sequenc e.
