Connection
State:

The cause of the failure is reported as an ISDN c ause value that is
recorded in the error log. Refer to the Hardware Error Log Table for
ADM-CONN in Chapter 9 to identify failure c auses.
waiting to retry = The system is waiting between attem pts to
restore the connection. The amount of time betw een attempts to restore is
administered on the adminis tered connections form. C heck the contents
of the Failure Cause field for information about why the ad ministered
connection failed.
attempting to connect/attempting to restore = These are
transitional states during whic h an attempt is made to c onnect or restore
the administered connec tion. If an administered c onnection remains in
this state for longer than 1 minute, disab le and then re-enable the
connection. If the prob lem still persists, or if the administe red connection
has retried a number of times with administered connection
origination attempt timed out reported in the Failure Cause
field, then make sure that the originating data module is c onnected and
the destination access en dpoint is not out-of-service.
not scheduled = The administered c onnection is enabled b ut is not
scheduled to b e active at the current time.
Failure
Cause: This field displays a self-exp lanatory message indic ating the reason for a
current state of attempting to connect, attempting to restore,
or failed. If the administered connection should b e active but is not
connected, then this field shows the most recent reason for failure. See
also the above descrip tion of "Connection State: failed."
Number of
Retries: The number of consecutive failed attempts to establish the connection.
Auto
Restorable? When an administered connec tion fails, the system can automatically
attempt to restore the connec tion. This field indicates whether this
capability is ac tivated on the administered connections ad ministration
form.
