!WARNING:
Replacing a Switch Nod e Interface, Switch Node Cloc k, Expansion
Interface or DS1 Converter circuit p ack on a simplex system d isrupts
service. The service effect c an range from outage of a sing le EPN to outage
of the entire system.
!WARNING:
A DS1 Converter Complex must consist of two TN574 boa rds or two
TN1654 boards. A TN574 cannot be c ombined with a TN1654 in the same
DS1 CONV Complex.
Replacing a DS1 CONV Circuit Pack with thesame type DS1 CONV circuit packDuplicatedPNC
!WARNING:
On a system with duplicate d PNC, synchronization may be provid ed over a
combination of active and standby com ponents. This condition is indic ated
by an OFF-BOARD WARNING alarm against TDM-CLK with error type
2305. Repairs to standby PNC in this state may d isrupt service. Otherwise,
if the active PNC is functional, replacem ent of a standby comp onent will not
disrupt service.
Steps Comments
Enter busyout board UUCSS UUCSS represents the cabinet-carrier-slot
address of the circ uit pack to be re placed.
A G3-MT logged in at the EPN Maintenance
circuit pac k will remain active in spite of the
busyout.
Replace the circuit p ack with the same
DS1 CONV board type.
Wait for the circuit pack to r eset Red and green LEDs will light and then go
out.
Enter release board UUCSS CAUTION:
Do not busyout any Expansion
Interface circuit p ack after this point.
Enter test alarms long clear for category
exp-intf.
Wait 5 minutes for SNI-BD, FIBER-LK
AND DS1C-BD alarms to clear, or enter
clear firmware counters a-pnc
