2. Refer to SYNC maintenance, in the “Approach to Troubleshooting”
section, if the error is not resolved b y step 1
Error Type 1282Indicates that the TN2182 tone-clock was synchronized
to a DS1 facility and that the reference frequ ency provided by the DS1
drifted beyond a range that could b e tracked b y the TN2182. Therefore
the TN2182 is no longer synchronized to that DS1 reference. I f a second
DS1 is available, the tone-clock may b e synchronized to that reference . If
no secondary DS1 reference is availab le, the tone-clock will run off of its
internal clock. This may result in slip s being reported by the tone-cloc k
and all DS1 facilities.
i. The tone-clock circuit p ack in the master port network was unab le to
detect the incoming synchronization signal, b ut the other tone-clock was
able to detect the referenc es. If the aux data is 0, the prob lem is with the
signal on the primary. If the aux data is 1, the problem is with the sig nal on
the secondary. The system should switch clocks in this situation.
1. If this error is against a PPN clock board and the system is using a
Stratum 3 clock, check the cabling that b rings the stratum 3 signal
to this clock board .
2. Replace the current standb y Tone-Clock circuit pack. See
How to Replace the Tone-Clock Circuit Pack
in the TONE-BD section.
j. The indicated active Tone-Clock circ uit pack, which is o n a port network
that does not contain the system sync hronization reference (a slave
Tone-Clock), has detected a loss of timing si gnal from its EXP-INTF
synchronization source.
1. Enter display errors and display alarms, and follow the
assoc iat ed re pair pro ced ures f or EXP-I NTF, TDM -CLK, and
TONE-BD error log entries that have on-board alarms.
2. If t he 230 5 erro rs p ersis t, fo llow t he re pair proc ed ures f or EXP-IN TF
error log entries 257, 769, or 770, or any errors logg ed against
SNI-BD, SNC-BD, or FIBER-LK.
3. If the 2305 errors persist:
a.
For Port Networks with more than one Tone-Clock circuit pack
, execute the command test s ynchronization r 10, and
check to see if new 2305 errors aga inst TDM-CLK were
reported. If not, execute reset PNC interchang e and then test
synchronization r 10 again, and recheck for new 2305 errors
against TDM-CLK
b.
For Port Networks with a single Tone-Clock circuit pack
,
execute the command test synchronization r 10, and chec k
to see if new 2305 errors were reported.
If no new instances of the 2305 errors were logg ed for either test,
then enter test tone-clock UUC long clear to clear the TDM-CLK
errors and the procedu re is complete.
