Login permissions for a sp ecified login c an be set by the super-user to b lock any
object that may comp romise switch security. Up to 40 ad ministration or
maintenance objects c ommands can b e blocked for a sp ecified log in in. When
an object (administrative o r maintenance command) i s entered in the blocked
object list on the Command Permissions Categories Restricted Obj ect List form,
the associated administrati ve or maintenance actions c annot be performed by
the specified login.
There are 3 command categories. Each of the 3 command categories has a
group of command subcategories listed under them, and eac h command
subcategory has a li st of command objec ts that the commands ac ts on. See
Table 3-1 and Table 3-2 for a list of objects. A super-user ca n set a users
permissions to restrict or b lock access to any command in these c ategories. The
3 categories are:

To Log In
To log in to the switch:
1. Enter your login name and password on the login and password screen
(Screen 3-2).
