b. Error types 257 and 769 indicate that the vintages of the boot imag es on
the two storage devices on Carrier A or Carrier B respectively, are
inconsistent.
1. Use the list configuration software-vintage command to get the
vintage numbers and instal l the correct vintage.
2. Run the data storage tests by entering test st ored-data to retire the
alarm.
3. If the STORED-DATA tests fail, refer to the repair procedures for
those tests for further information.
c. Error type 542 indicates that the sc heduled daily save-translation
operation failed. If a STORED-DATA alarm is active, it is d ue to a data
inconsistency.
1. Refer to the alarm log and clear any failures assoc iated with the
HOST ADAPTER, TAPE, or DUPINT circuit and c lear those
problems first.
2. Then save translation manually by entering save translation and
backup the d isk manually by entering backup disk. Note: this
operation may take up to an hour.
3. Run the data storage tests by entering test st ored-data to retire the
alarm.
4. If the STORED-DATA tests fail, refer to the repair procedures for
those tests for further information.
d. Error type 543 indicates that the sc heduled daily d isk backup op eration
failed. If a STORED-DATA alarm is active, it is due to a d ata inconsistency.
1. Refer to the alarm log and clear any failures assoc iated with the
HOST ADAPTER, DISK, or DUPINT circuit and clear those

e. Error types 1025 and 1537 indicate that one or mo re of the following
conditions has occ urred between the tapes or between the disks
respectively, in each carrier: the timestamp s of the translation files on the
two storage devices are inc onsistent, the timestamps of the
announcement files on the two storage d evices are inconsistent, or the
timestamps of the program up date files on the two storage d evices are
inconsistent.
