backup disk
This command copies all i nformation from the disk drive in the sp ecified
processor carrier(s) to the tap e system in the same carrier. This can take up to 40
minutes to complete.
On a si mple x SPE, the defa ult i s to p erfor m an i ncre menta l bac kup of SPE-A . On
a dup lex SPE, the d efau lt is t o pe rfor m an in crem ental bac kup on b oth SPE-A
and SPE- B.
NOTE:
The backup command can take up to 10 minutes to c omplete. Avoid
pressing the ENTER key on the keyboard d uring this time, since doin g so will
cause the result messages to be lost.

backup disk [spe-a | spe-b | active | standby | both | either] [incremental | full]
spe- a Spec ifies a ba ckup fro m the A proc ess or ca rrier hard dis k to t he A SPE
tape.
spe-b This specifies a bac kup from the B processo r carrier hard disk t o the B
SPE tape .
active This specifies a backup of the ac tive processor.
standby This specifies a back up of the standby p rocessor.
both This specifies a backup of both proc essor carriers.
either Specifies a backup of both SPE carriers. If the standby is not ac cessible,
the command performs a b ackup of the ac tive SPE.
incremental Causes all data marked “good” that has been changed since the last
backup to tap e to be copied to the tape. That is, all files that have a date
newer than the date on the tape file.
full This causes all data to be c opied from disk to tap e regardless of the d ates
and the state of the data (“ good” or “b ad”).
