Duplication Interface Circuit Pack LEDs
In sys tems w ith d upli cat ed SPEs, (Hig h Relia bili ty and Cri tica l Relia bili ty), t here
are two Duplication Interfac e UN330B circuit pac ks. One is located in car rier A
and one in carrier B of the PPN. Each circuit p ack has four LEDs. The top three
have the traditional function of ind icating the status of the p ack.
The LED l ocat ed a t the b otto m of th e fac epl ate d irec tly b enea th the SPE Selec t
switc h is l abel ed OVERRI DE. Und er n ormal oper ating con dit ions, the SPE Sel ect
switch is in the AUTO (center) position, and the OVERRIDE LED remains unlit.
This means that the system controls which SPE is active. System selection of the
active SPE can be manually overridden b y moving the SPE Select switches from
the AUTO position to either the “A” p osition or the “B” po sition on both
Duplication Interface circuit packs. A t this time, the red OVERRIDE LEDs on both
Dupl icat ion In terf ace c irc uit p acks will l igh t stea dily to ind ica te tha t one SPE i s
locked Active and the system is not duplic ated. If both SPE Select switches are
not in the same position, the system software retains c ontrol of Active SPE
selec tion , and the OVERRI DE LED re main s unli t. When cont rol of the SPE
selection is returned to the system b y returning the SPE Select switches on both
Duplication Interface c ircuit packs to the AUTO positio n, the OVERRIDE LED will
go dark. Forced SPE selection should b e undertaken only after consult ing the
appropriate sec tions in Chapter 9, ‘‘Maintenance Object Repair Procedures’’.
