Accessing the Bulletin Board
Any user with the appropriate p ermissions can log into th e system and have
access to the bulletin b oard. Users that have “Maintain System” or “Administer
Features” permissions can enter, c hange, display, print, or sc hedule to print a
message. Users that have “Disp lay Admin” and “ Maintain Data” permission can
display the bulletin b oard. Any user who has “Dis play” permission c an display,
print, and sched ule to print the contents of the b ulletin board.
When a user logs on to the system they are notified of any messag es on the
bulletin board. The notification messag e indicates the last time the b ulletin board
was updated, if any “High-Priority” message exist, and if the bulletin board is
80% or more full. If a “High-Priority” messag e exists, the command p rompt will
change to the following mes sage:

After the next command is entered, the default command p rompt returns to the
screen.
User Considerations
Only one user at a time may edit a messag e on the bulletin board .
The user must have the proper permis sions to access the bu lletin board.
You, the user must maintain the information stored on the bulletin board . It
is your responsibility to delete old messages. If the bulletin board is full
any new messages overwrite old messages.
System Considerations
The Bulletin Board feature provides up to 3 pages of text for each
message. Each page is limite d to 20 lines of text and 40 c haracters per
line. The first 10 lines of text on page 1 are reserved f or Lucent Service’s
High-Priority messages.
System Bulletin Board Commands
The system commands “change bulletin board”, “display bulletin board,” and
existing commands in the user interface are provided for use in the Switch Based
Bulletin Board.
To edit or enter a message on the Switch Based Bulletin Board you must:
1. Log into the system with “Maintain System or Ad minister Features”
Permissions.
2. Enter the command change bulletin-board.
