Speech Synthesis PSS Handshake Test (#168)
This test verifies control functionality between t he on-board microproc essor and
prog ramm able spe ech s ynthe size r (PSS) c ontro ller. A fai lure o ccu rs if eithe r of
the following events occur:
The on- boa rd mi crop roc essor time s out w hile waiti ng fo r the PSS cont rolle r
to respond.
An invalid command is rec eived by the on-b oard microprocessor from the
PSS controller.
This type of failure will affect all four ports o n the Speech Synthesis circuit pac k,
resulting in errors or alarms on each p ort.
2100 ABORT Could not allocate the necessary syst em resources to run this test.
1. Retry the command at 1-minute intervals a maximum of 5 times.
Any FAIL The SSD is insane.
1. Replace the circuit pack.
PASS The SSD is sane. User-reported troubles should be investigated using other
tests and by verifying other ports on this circuit pack are working correctly.

1. Retry the command at 1-minute intervals a maximum of 5 times.
1000 ABORT System resources required to run this test are not available. The port may be
busy with a valid call and therefore unavailabl e for certain tests. You must wait
until the port is idle (yellow LED is off) before retesting.
1. If the port is idle, retry the command at 1-minute intervals a maximum of 5
times.
2000 ABORT Response to the test request was not received within the allowable time
period.
