Misframe Alarm Inquiry Test (#145)
Misframe Alarm indicates that framing bits observed on a DS1 Interfac e circuit
pack are in error. Misframe Alarm Inq uiry Test queries the total number of
misframes that occurred on a DS1 Interfac e circuit pack si nce the last inquiry.
When the DS1 Interface circuit pac k detects a misframe error, it will increase its
misframe counter by 1. If the c ounter reaches the threshold, a
MISFRAME-COUNT message is automatically sent to the switch maintenance
software. After the maintenance software receives the MISFRAME-COUNT
message, the Misframe Alarm Inquir y Test is initiated to collect the misframe
counts from the DS1 Interface circuit p ack.
When the threshold of misframes is reached, if the D S1 Interface circuit pack is
supplying the system sync hronization source, then a switching s ynchronization
source message is sent to the TDM Bus Cloc k. See TDM-BUS (TDM Bus)
Maintenance documentation for d etails. A Minor alarm against the DS1 Interface
circuit pack i s raised, but all trunks of the DS1 Interface c ircuit pack are still in the
in-service state.
