test duplication-interface [short | long] [repeat # | clear] [schedule]
The test duplication-interface command performs hardware d iagnostic tests on
the system’s dupint circ uit packs and interc onnecting cab le (DUPINT and
DUP-CH L main tenan ce ob jec ts). Testi ng is unde r con trol o f the a ctiv e SPE. See
descriptions of these mainte nance objects in Chap ter 9 for more details.
The DUP-CHL maintenance object is associated with both active and stand by
DUPINT boards and the interconnecting cable. The DUPINT maintenance object
is associated with the active d upint board. There are five tests for the DUPINT
maintenance object and an additional eight tests for the DUP-CHL maintenance
object.
When testing the active and standb y dupint circu it packs and the interconnec tion
cable for an active SPE carrier, dup lication channel comp onents are only tested
in one dire ction . By p erfo rming an SPE in terch ange , the d upl icat ion c hannel
components can b e tested in the other direction f or complete testing. Further
testi ng of the st andb y du pint board can also b e do ne thr ough t he SPE-d own
Command Interface with c arriers locked. This interface c an be used for general
testi ng of the st andb y SPE whe n the SPE h andsh ake is not fu ncti oning .
The du plic atio n-int erfac e tes t is in valid for a n SPE simp lex s ystem . For SPE
duplex systems, the presenc e of both DUPINT boards is assumed. In d uplex
SPE systems, any DUPINT communication failures will give FAIL or ABORT
results on the output screen.
Loss o f hand shak e bet ween a ctiv e and stand by SPEs p reve nts te sting of
stand by SPE c omp onent s unle ss the SPE- down inter fac e is us ed.
The long test sequence is destructive and requires that busyout spe-standby
be executed first.
Output
Port The physical address of the maintenance object that is b eing tested.
For DUPINT the address is the cabinet (1) and c arrier (A or B) of the
acti ve SPE. For DUP-CH L, the add ress i s the c abi net an d ca rrier of the
stand by SPE.
