any noisy tones. This type of failure affects maintenance on other objects.
Maintenance may not be able t o run on other objects whic h use the tone
generation facility (that is, Tone Detector Circuit Pack maintenance). In thi s
case, the Tone-Clock circuit pack can be replaced as suitable to the
customer.
c. Error code 115 may also be caused by TDM Bus corruption. This normally
means a physical prob lem with bent bac kplane pins, TDM/LAN Bus
cabling, or TDM/LAN Bus termin ators. Such physical prob lems should
especially be susp ected if board replacement or other physic al activity
has occurred just be fore this error is observed.
Use display errors to look for errors on other circuit pac ks in the carriers
of the same Port Network as the indicated Tone-Clock. If any are found,
they should be resolved if p ossible, and the Tone-Clock circuit p ack
retested. If this does not clear the problem, the Tone-Clock circuit pac k
should be replac ed and the new one tested . If the problem persis ts, follow
instructions for TDM Bus maintenance in this manua l.
Tone Generator Update/Audit Test (#41)
The active tone generation facility is refreshed with all the time slot tone
information. This test also triggers in-line error messag es the Tone-Clock circuit
pack generates when it detects problems by itself.
A check is also made b etween the type of tone-cloc k being tested and the type
of tone-clock needed based on system administration. The ad ministration on the
system-parameters country-op tions form may imply that a TN780 is required
