p. Error type 2561 indicates that the Data Write-Read Test (#810) failed.
q. Error 2817 indicates that the Tape Status Test (#815) detected a fault. See
the
MSS Error Acti ons
table at the end of the sect ion on TAPE.
r. Error type 3073 indicates in-line errors reported b y the tape control
software. See the
MSS Error Acti ons
table at the end of the sec tion on
TAPE.
s. Error type 3329 indicates that the Tape Audit Test (#811) detected a
corrupted di rectory file. Execute the test tape long command and fix any
failures associated with those tests. The Auxiliary Cod e for this Error Log
entry and the failure code for the Tape Audit test ind icate the director y file
that is corrupted. If Test 811 does not fail, follow normal e scalation
procedures.
t. Error type 3585 with auxiliary data 408 indicates that the re was an error in
reading translation data from the tap e and/or disk.
This error only occurs on a system reset 3,4, or 5 (Cold 1, system reboot,
or extended system reboot). If a d isk is present, the system first tries to
read translation from the first and second copies of translation on the d isk
and, if that fails, it tries to read transla tion from the first and second copies
of translation on the tape.
If an error was detected with read ing translation from the disk and then the
tape, a 408 error will be logged. This error will invoke
Emergency Transfer
on a sy stem w ith s impl ex SPE. It will caus e an SPE i nterc hang e if t he
system is equipped with duplicated SPEs. To clear this alarm, correc t all
other tape errors.
If the SPE is not dup lic ated , it m ay be nece ssar y to us e a b acku p ta pe to
first restore translation data to the disk. A new b ackup tape should be
obtained as soon as po ssible.
If the system is equipped with duplicat ed SPEs and if the alarm is
assoc iate d wi th the tape on th e stan dby SPE the a ctiv e SPE shou ld b e
running with the most current translation. Therefore after correc ting any
hard ware fa ilure s ass ocia ted w ith t he tap e and dis k on t he sta ndb y SPE, a
save translation command should be used to save translations to th e
disk and tape on the stand by SPE.
u. Error type 3585 with auxiliary data 409 means that there was an error in
reading the program u pdate file from both the d isk and tape or there was
an error in applying the p rogram update fil e once it was success fully read
from the disk or tape.
This error only occurs during a s ystem reset 4 or 5 (system reboot or
extended system reboot). If a d isk is present, the system will try to read
the program update file from the disk first and, if that fails, it will try to read
the program update file from the tap e. After it succeeds in read ing a copy
of the program upd ate file, it will check to see if the p rogram update
information is appropriate f or the software version in memory before it
applies it to the software boot ima ge.
