June 1999
Maintenance Commands
8-362test sys-link
8
Parameters
test sys-link
test sys-link UUCSSpp [channel # ] [current | faulted]
[short | long][repeat # | clear] [schedule]
The test sys-link c ommand will validate the existenc e of the specified link and
run diagnostic tests on th e hardware path that compris es the system link. If the
“current” or “ faulted” option is sp ecified, tests are run on all hard ware objects
that comprise the spec ified link. If “current” or “faulted” is not specified, only the
end-to-end sys-link con nection will be tested.
The hardware path that comprises a s ystem link consists of up to 21 hardware
components that affect the b ehavior of the link. The number of comp onents of a
given system link hardware path d epends on the system c onfiguration and type
of system link. The following links are examples of system links: Expansion
Archangel Links (EAL), Indirect Neighbor Links (INL), Processor Gate Control
links (PGC), PRI signaling links (PRI), System Access Port links (SAP), X.25
adjunct links (X25).
Parameters
Examples
test sys-link 2e0201 current l schedule
test sys-link 2e0201 faulted r 10
test sys-link 1c1701 channel 3 r 10
long Both long and short seq uences run Test #417. If Stratum 3 synchronization is
administered, an add itional non-destructive test (#649) i s run by the long
sequence.
UUCSSpp The location of the port associated with the system link.
channel
number The processor channel (1 to 128) assoc iated with an X.25 adjunct link to
be tested.
current This specifies testing of the c urrent hardware path of the system link.
faulted This specifies testing of the hardware path of the system link as it was
constituted when a fault last c aused the link to go down. For more
information, see ‘‘Common Input Parameters’’ at the beginning of this
chapter.
