save announcements
!CAUTION:
Do not execute save announcements if there is an unresolved problem
with the HOST-ADAPTR maintenance object. Save translations should not
be done to a tape or d isk device with unresolved p roblems. Doing so may
destroy a good c opy of the files.
!CAUTION:
The option to save announcements to only one SPE in a duplica ted system
should be used with c are since it causes two inc onsistent versions to exist
in storage.
!CAUTION:
The save command can take up to 40 minutes to c omplete. Avoid pressing
ENTER
during this time since d oing so will cause the result messag es to be
lost.
The save announcements command c opies announcement dat a from the
TN750B Integrated Announcement c ircuit pack to the Mass Storage System
(MSS). Default devices are the disk in a disk/tap e system, and the devic es in
both SPEs in a duplicated system. Other op tions are available as desc ribed
below.
Save announcements writes two identical c opies of the announcement data to
each specified device. Each cop y bears the same time-stamp, (the time at which
the first copy was written). Each co py is also marked with the state of the cop y
(“good” or “bad”).
Execution of this command requires the presence of a TN750B circuit p ack and
an administered announcement d ata module and associ ated system port.
The command is disallowed or aborts if:
An announcement data modul e and system port data mod ule are not
administered.
The announcement data module p ort is out of service or already in use.
No announcements are on the board.
An integrated announceme nts session is in progress.
The board is currently being uploaded or d ownloaded.
