set pnc lock | unlock
On Critical Reliability systems (duplicated PNC), set pnc lock locks the active
port network connectivity in the active state. PNC interchanges will b e prevented
and the active port n etwork connectivity will remain ac tive regardless of its state
of health. Duplicate call s etup will still take place, though the standby is not
available for service. This cond ition can also be initia ted by the reset pnc
interchange override-and-lock command. You can tell if the PNC is locked b y
looking at the Software Locked? field on the status pnc sc reen. (The
Interchange Disabled? field refers to the antithrashing mec hanism.)
Set pnc unlock releases the lock and enables su bsequent interchang es to take
place.
If the health of the active pnc has degraded to worse than that of the standby
pnc, unlocking the active port network c onnectivity can c ause an immediate PNC
interchange This condition c an be foreseen by use of status pnc.
System restarts remove a PNC lock.
!CAUTION:

If the active PNC experiences p roblems while in the locked state, service

disruptions may occ ur that would ordinarily be a voided by PNC

interchange.
