ping ip-address
This command sends a “p ing” to the given IP add ress and returns the port used
to perform the test, the pass/fail results of the test, the round-trip delay time for
successful tests, and the error code on tests that failed. You can also spec ify
which circuit pac k that is used to perform the te st in the case of multiple C-LAN
circuit packs.
If the command fails (for examp le, if the port or far end is not respond ing etc.),
the system returns one of the following messag es (Table 8-8):

address not assigned The system cannot find the IP address.
Internet address not reachab le
from this board The IP address is not in the route table of
the specified board.
More than one default route
exists, specify board The IP address is not in the route table,
and more than 1 C-LAN circuit p ack has
a default route.
Invalid internet address Invalid Internet add ress parameter
"CCcss" is an invalid identifier;
please press HELP Invalid board loc ation (when using the
“board” op tion).
Error encountered, could not
complete request The internal error of not being ab le to find
the port through which the I P address is
reached.
