Maintenance Commands
8-192restore announcements
8
An integrated announcements s ession is in progress or the circu it pack is
currently being up loaded or download ed. Announcements c annot be
save or restored after the restore announcements c ommand has started.
Tape is specified and a tape cartridge is not in the tape drive.
A system port is not available.
The MSS is in use by either another user or by maintenance.
An announcement file does not exist on the specified d evice, or is
corrupted.
In case of a failure of the restore command, you must make sure the
announcement file is compl etely copied to the announ cement circuit pac k. The
system will continually attempt to d ownload the circuit p ack at 10 minute intervals
until either a download is suc cessful, announcements are reco rded, or a
download is initiated from the ter minal. In case of a hardware or firmware error,
an error will be logged , pointing to the source of trouble. Maintenance software
will invoke tests to diagnose and attempt to correct the p roblem. If maintenance
software fails to correct the prob lem, an alarm is raised.
If a system crash or spontaneous SPE interchange takes p lace, the restore
operation will fail, leaving the announc ement circuit pac k without a valid
announcement file. To remedy this, repeat the restore command on th e newly
acti ve SPE.
NOTE:
Until announcements are compl etely copied to the announc ement circuit
pack, calls will not b e connected to an y announcements on the
announcement circuit p ack.
When the announcement circuit pac k is inserted or reset, an automatic download
of the announcement file is perfor med.
