i. These error types are reported when the following errors are detected:
j. These errors indicate that the circuit p ack is having probl ems transmitting
data to the Packet Bus.
k. A critical failure has been d etected in the Packet Bus interf ace of the
circuit pack. This failure may b e due to either a Packet Bus fault or an
on-board fault. If the Packet Bus is alarmed , refer to the ‘‘PKT-BUS (Packet
Bus)’’ section and the Packet Bus Fault Isolation and Recovery section of
1537 Frame overrun at Packet Bus interface. This condition may
be caused b y an on-board fault or by faulty d ata received
on one of the circuit p ack’s external ports. If any of the p orts
on this circuit pac k are alarmed, refer to the repair
procedures for those main tenance objects.
1538 Circuit packet is hyp eractive; that is, it is flooding the switc h
with messages sent over the control c hannel. The circuit
pack is taken out-of-service when a threshold number of
these errors is reported to the switc h. Clear the alarm via the
following commands: busyout boar d UUCSS, reset board
UUCSS, test board UUCSS long clear, release board
UUCSS. If the error recurs within 10 minutes, then replac e
the circuit pac k.
1793 Parity errors are detected when transmitting data to the
Packe t Bus.
1794 Overflow of Packet Bus transmit b uffers has occurred.
1795 Circuit pac k cannot find end of frame when transmitting to
Packet Bus. Clear the alarm via the following c ommands:
busyout board UUCSS, reset board UUCSS, test board
UUCSS long clear, release board UUCSS. If the error
recurs within 10 minutes, then replac e the circuit pac k.
2306 This error occurs when the c ircuit pack d etects an error in a
received frame from the pa cket bus. These errors are most
likel y caused by a packet bus problem, but m ay be due to a
circuit pack fault. An invalid Link Access Proced ure Data
(LAPD) frame error occurs if the frame cont ains a bad
Cyclical Redundanc y Checking (CRC), is greater than the
maximum length, or violates the link level p rotocol. When bus
parity errors are reported, the LANBIC Receive Parity Error
Counter Test (#595) should be performed to determine if the
condition had c leared. Refer to the ‘‘PKT-BUS (Packet Bus)’’
Maintenance documentat ion to determine if the problem is
isolated to this circuit p ack or if the problem is c aused by
Packet Bus faults.
