The switch sent a message to an endp oint that did not respond in the
allotted time. This may be due to failure of the p oint-to-point signaling l ink
or because of a prob lem in the ASAI adjunct. To repair:
■Execute the test station extension command and perfo rm the
associated repair p rocedures for those tests.
b. An endpoint is not respond ing to the service state que ry message sent to
the adjunct or to the endp oint. This error causes an alarm to be raised.
The alarm is retired when the switch receives a response to the service
state query to the endp oint or to the adjunct.
When this error occurs for an ASAI adjunct, the Aux Data field indicates
the state of the ASAI link and whether an invalid resp onse or no response
was received to the query from the switc h, as shown in the following table:

For ASAI or Lucent adjuncts, the switch q ueries the adjunct every two
minutes. The Layer 3 Query Test is not executed for ASAI or Lucent
adjuncts through a c ommand issued from the management ter minal.
While alarmed for this error, the switch takes the assoc iated port
out-of-service for five second s every 15 minutes. This action attempts to
stimulate recovery actions to b e taken by the adjunct.
