LEDs
The LEDs on the faceplate of the TN2242 circuit pac k indicate its status as
described in Table 9-680.
Interactions with other MOs
The TN2242 maintenance object direc tly interacts with these maintenance
objects:
‘‘Synchronization’’
‘‘TN2242 trunk ports’’
‘‘Call processing’’
Synchronization
The DS1 facility plays a vital role in the synchronization subsystem. The
Tone/Clock circuit pack uses either the p rimary or secondary timing reference,
whether internal (local -- Tone/Clock circuit p ack) or external. TN2242 circuit
packs can b e administered as “primar y” or “secondary ” synchronization
references.
TN2242 circuit pack send s DS1 link status information to the synchronization
reference switching alg orithm that determines whether timing reference s should
be switched d ue to failure or restore conditions.
TN2242 trunk ports
The TN2242 circuit pack MO is respon sible for monitoring the health of the DS1
facility. If a DS1 facility goes down, then that fac ility’s DS1 circuit pack instructs
all DS1 port MOs associated with the fac ility to place their trunks (or ISDN-PRI
signaling link) in an out-of-servic e sta te.
Call processing
The busyout board command tears down all calls and sig naling links associated
with a TN2242 circuit pack.

LED Meaning
Red MAJOR alarm
MINOR alarm
Firmware initialization during circ uit pack insertion
Yellow A port on the circuit p ack is in use.
Green Maintenance testing is in progress on the circuit pack or
its ports.
