You can also administer the options on a system-wid e basis for Minor off-board
DS1 Interface circuit pac k alarms.
Alarm reporting options information in the Alarm Reporting Op tions Form is
considered translation d ata and, thus, is preserved throug h all levels of restart.
This feature affects the alarming of the MOs listed bel ow. Neither the trunk nor the
station category app lies to alarms raised on the co mmon portion of the circuit
pack.
In all cases, if the option assoc iated with the alarm type is set to “ n,” the alarm
report is dropped . All error information about the alarm is intac t, but there is no
record of an alarm and no LEDs lig ht on the port circuit p ack, the Maintenance
circuit pack, the attendant console, or alarm repo rting station to indicate a
problem.
If the option is set to “warning ” or “report,” port circuit p ack LEDs and LEDs on
the Maintenance circuit p ack are affected the same as nor mal warning alarms.
The default parameters are as follows:
Downgrade all station, trunk (exc ept on-board trunk alarms ), and Minor
DS1-BD alarms to warning alarms.
On-board Major and Minor trunk al arms, should continue to raise alarms
and report to INADS.
Station MOs Affected By This Command
NOTE:
Although alarms on these MOs may app ear as warnings, the alarms should
be investigated with user-rep orted problems.
Analog Lines (ANL-LINE, ANL-NE-L, ANL-16-L)
Digital Lines (DIG-LINE)
Hybrid Lines (HYB-LINE)
MET Lines (MET-LINE)
ISDN-BRI Lines (BRI-PORT, BRI-SET)
Trunk maintenance is characterized by a n escalation of a Minor alarm to a Major
alarm if more than 75 percent of the memb ers of the trunk group are alarmed . If
the option for the trunk category is set to “ warning,” “mino r,” “report,” or “ no,” this
no longer happens. Mainte nance removes an individual trunk me mber
out-of-service accord ing to the normal criteria used for Major and Minor alarms.
