Maintenance Architecture
The maintenance subsystem is that par t of the software that is responsible for
initializing and maintaining the system. This software continuously monitors
system health and maintains a record of errors detected in the system. The
maintenance subsystem also p rovides a user interface for on-d emand testing.
This chapter provides a b rief descripti on of the R6r maintenance strategy, and
presents backgroun d information on the system’s overall func tions. For detailed
descriptions of c omponents and sub systems, refer to related topics i n Chapter 9,
