Passes Far-end Clock
This field determines if the DS1 facility c an be used as a cloc k reference for the
receive fiber signal. The field is se t to
yes unless the DS1 facility cannot be used
as clock reference sig nal.
This field appears on the fibe r-link form only for TN574 DS1 CONV circuit packs.
On the TN1654 DS1 CONV board, none of the facilities can b e used as a clock
reference for the receive fiber signal t hus administration of this field is not
applicable.
DS1 facilities cannot be used as system synchronization sources.
Digital Data Compatible
This field determines if the DS1 facility is suitab le for carrying pac ket traffic. The
field is set to
yes unless the DS1 facility is not digital d ata compatibl e.
This field appears on the fibe r-link form only for TN574 DS1 CONV circuit packs.
The TN574 circuit pack allows any of the four fac ilities to be used as the p rimary
facility which carries the p acket traffic. The TN1654 DS1 CONV board, however,
allows packet traffic only on fac ilities A and B. Thus there is no need to administer
this information as it is already pred etermined.
Bit Rate
This field is used to select d omestic T1 operation or internatio nal E1 operation for
all facilities in the TN1654 DS1 CONV Complex. The field is set to
1.544 Mbps for
T1 operation and
2.048 Mbps for E1 operation.
This field appears on the fib er-link form only for TN1654 DS1 CONV circuit packs.
NOTE:
The TN1654 DS1 CONV circuit pack is also field c onfigurable for T1 or E1
operation. All four DS1 facilities are conf igured to either T1 or E1 as a group
via an option switch loca ted on the component sid e of the circuit pac k. An
error will be logged and an alarm will be raised if there is a T1/E1
inconsistency between th e administered bit rate and the board option
switch setting.
Idle Code
This field is used to set the idle c ode for all facilities on the TN1654 DS1 CONV
board. This field can ac cept any comb ination of ones (1) and zeros (0) with the
exception that the second left-most digit must b e set to one (1) at all times.
