Maintenance Object Repair Procedures
9-1106M/T-BD (Maintenance/Test Circuit Pack)
9
c. A port processor on the c ircuit pack failed to initialize. Reset the circuit
pack via busyout board UUCSS, reset board UUCSS, and release
board UUCSS. if the problem does not g o away, replace the circuit pa ck.
d. A Control Channel Protocol Error has occurred. This may be d ue to an
on-board hardware failure detec ted by the circ uit pack. Reset the circuit
pack by executing busyout board UUCSS and reset board UUCSS
commands. If there is a prob lem, it will be detected during initialization
and will cause the circ uit pack to lock up and appear insane to the
system.
e. An extra TN771D circuit pack has b een inserted into the port network.
f. An on-board hardware failure has been detec ted by the circ uit pack.
Reset the circuit pack via th e busyout board UUCSS, reset board
UUCSS, and release board UUCSS command s. If SAKI Sanity Test (#53)
passes, the circuitry is healthy. If SAKI Sanity Test (#53) fails, replace the
circuit pack.
g. This error is reported by the circ uit pack when it detec ts a program logic
error. While no action is required, this error may lead to errors of other
types being rep orted against this circ uit pack.
h. This error is reported by the circuit p ack when it cannot upd ate NPE
memory and read it bac k. This error type can be ignored, b ut may lead to
errors of other types being rep orted against this circ uit pack.
i. Excessive number of messages have been rec eived from the
Maintenance/Test circuit pack. This may b e due to a hardware problem on
the circuit pac k. The switch will take the board out of service an d
periodically put it ba ck into servi ce to see if th e problem has disappeared.
If the problem persists, rep lace the circuit pac k.
j. This error is not service affecting. No action is required . This error is
reported by the c ircuit pack when it receives a bad control channel
message from the switch.
k. Error type 3999 indicates that the circui t pack sent a large numb er of
control channel messages to the s witch within a short period of time . If
error type 1538 is also present, then the c ircuit pack was taken
out-of-service due to hype ractivity. If error type 1538 is not present, then
the circuit pack has not been taken out-of-service, but it has g enerated
50% of the messages necessary to b e considered hyp eractive. This may
be completely normal d uring heavy traffic period s. However, if this error
type is logged when the circuit pack is b eing lightly used, it may ind icate a
problem with the circui t pack or the equipment attached to it.
