Failure of the reset command will plac e the tape in the uninstalled state,
preventing all maintenance tes ting including demand testing of the failed tape as
well as all system access to the failed tape except for this reset c ommand.
When the host-adapter is busied out, only the busyout and test c ommands are
permitted on the tape i n that carrier. Reset, release, scheduled and periodic
testing and other system software ac cess are blocke d. The host-adapter must b e
released before the tape c an be released.
When the host-adapter is taken out-of-service d ue to test failures, or fails a reset
and becomes uninstalled , the tape on the same carrier is also placed in the
uninstalled state. All acc ess to that tape by system software, inc luding
maintenance tests, resets and other c ommands are blocked from execution.

restore announcements
restore announcements [disk | tape]
This command copies stored announcement data from the sp ecified MSS device
to the announcement board. On a duplicated system, data is always cop ied from
the device on the active SPE.
NOTE:
The restore command can take up to 4 0 minutes to complete. Avoid
pressing the ENTER key on the keyboard during this time, since doing so
will cause the result messages to be lost.
The command is not executed if any of the following cond itions is present:
An announcement data modul e and a system port data module have not
been administered.
The announcement data module por t is out of service or already in use (for
example, performing an announcement playb ack).
CThe cabinet is always 1 and need not be entered. Carrier a or b must be specified
