Configuration Audit (#759)
This test is non-destructive.
This test is run via the test board short or test board long command for SNI
circuit packs or v ia test fiber-link for fiber links with SNI endpoint(s).
This test queries the SNI for SNC s in the same switch node c arrier, SNI peers,
DS1 CONV s, and EI or SNI neighbors that the SNI can communicate with and
compares this data to the ad ministered data.
Failures of this test cause entries in the error and alarm log s against Switch Node
Configuration (SN-CONF) with the board location of the SNI.
This test is unable to detect the case wh ere an SNI is connected to the same type
of board (EI or SNI) as administered but located in a different c abinet but the
same carrier and same slot as the ad ministered fiber endp oint. The administered
fiber endpoint c an be viewed with the list fiber-link com mand. This test can only
detect if the fiber end point connected to the SNI is in a different carrier, slot
location than the administered f iber endpoint.
If the SNI is connected to the same typ e of fiber endpoint as the administered
fiber endpoint, b ut the location is the same as administ ered except for the
cabinet, all phone c alls will not work correctly; some p hone calls will not go
through and some phone c alls will ring the wrong p hone.
The test led c ommand can be used in this case to chec k connectivity.
1. First, run the test led port-network command on each administered port
network and verify that the LEDs on the correct p ort network are lit.
2. If not, check that the fib er connections to the po rt network are consistent
with the administered fibers (list fiber-link) that does not light the LEDs as
expected.
3. Then run the test led switch-node c ommand on each admi nistered switch
node carrier and verify that t he LEDs on the correct switch node carrier
are lit.
4. If not, check the c onnectivity to the switch node carrier that does not light
the LEDs as expected.
