Help Messages
If the technician presses HELP after entering “ test alarms” the following messag e
will be displayed:
Enter [’auto-page’], [’failures’], [’step’],
[’short’ or ’long’], [’repeat’ (1-100) or ’clear’]
repeat number The "number" specifies how many times each test in the s equence is to
be repeated. "Number" may be any integ er between 1 and 100.
clear This option causes the test sequenc e (short or long) to repeat until the
alarm is cleared or a singl e test in the sequence fails. The long c lear
option forces a clear of al l alarms if no errors are encountered d uring
testing. The short clear option only c lears alarms pertinent to tests in
the short sequence.
!WARNI NG:
Executing a clear with short op tion, may not clear all alarms even
if all tests pass.
!WARNI NG:
Since the "clear long" options clear all c ounters if tests pass, it is
possible for firmware counters to b e cleared even when a
problem exists. In some cas es customer service might d egrade
since calls may be routed over defective equip ment.
