Busyouts and PNC-DUP
Busyout pnc puts the standby PNC in the b usyout state. In this condition:
Double call set up is tur ned off.
The standby PNC is unrefreshed; existing d uplicate call c onnections are
removed.
PNC interchanges are prevented.
Upon release, interchanges are re-enab led and a glob al refresh of double call
setup on the standby is performed.
When PNC duplication is in effect:
An active PNC component ca nnot be busied-out.
A standby PNC component c an only be busied -out when the standby
PNC is first busied-out.
The standby PNC cannot be released unless all standby PNC
components are released.
Enabling and removing PNC Duplication
To enable PNC duplication, perform the following sequence of steps :
1. Enable administration of PNC-DUP on the change system-parameters
customer-options form.
2. Fully administer duplic ate fiber link connectivity. Verify by list atm-pnc.
3. Activate PNC-DUP through the change system-parameters duplication
form. This is not allowed if any comp onent of either PNC (A or B) is busied
out.
status pnc Displays information about the op erational status of both
PNCs including state of health, alarms, b usyouts and locks,
and so on.
reset pnc
interchange Used to initiate a demand PNC interc hange. If the standby
is healthy (state of health indexes all zero), the re is no
effect on service. Otherwise, calls may be dropped.
set pnc Used to lock or unlock the active PNC, preventing
interchanges. It does not interfere with double call se tup.
busyout pnc Removes the standby PNC from service. See also the
following section on b usyout of PNC components.
