k. A critical failure has been d etected in the Packet Bus interfac e of the
circuit pack. This failure may b e due to an on-board fault or a Pack et Bus
fault. If the Packet Bus is alarmed, refer to the PKT-BUS Maintenance
documentation for recommend ed repair proced ures.
If the Packet Bus is not alarmed, reset the circuit p ack via busyout board
UUCSS and reset board UUCSS commands. If the c ircuit pack Restart
Test (#594) passes, then the on board circuitry is healthy. Retire the alarm
via the test board UUCSS long clear command. If the c ircuit pack Restart
Test (#594) fails, replace the circuit pac k.
l. This error is not service affecting. No action is req uired. This error is
reported by the c ircuit pack when it receives a bad control channel
message from the switch.
m. This error is not service-affecting. No action is req uired. A bad translation
RAM has been detected, b ut call continues by using another translation
RAM loc atio n.
n. Error type 3999 indicates that the c ircuit pack sent a large nu mber of
control channel messages to the s witch within a short period of time . If
error type 1538 is also present, then the c ircuit pack was taken
out-of-service due to hype ractivity. If error type 1538 is not present, then
the circuit pack has not been taken out-of-service, but it has g enerated
50% of the messages necessary to b e considered hyp eractive. This may
be completely normal d uring heavy traffic period s. However, if this error
type is logged when the circuit pack is b eing lightly used, it may ind icate a
problem with the circui t pack or the equipment attached to it.System
Technician-Demanded Tests: Descriptions and Error Codes
Always investigate tests in the order p resented in the table below. By c learing
error codes associated with the
Control Channel Looparound Test
for example,
you may also clear errors generated from other tests in the testing sequenc e.
Note:
a. For Control Channel Loop-Around Test (#52), and SAKI Sanity Test (#53)
refer to the r espec tive repai r proc edu res de scrib ed i n "XXX-BD (C ommon
Port Ci rcuit Pack).
