ANN-BD (Announcement Circuit
Pack)
The TN750 contains 16 announcement ports eac h of which can play any
recorded announcemen t. The circuit pack also has one d ata line circuit port (p ort
17) for uploading and downloading announc ement files to and from the system’s
disk and tape devi ces. For errors associated with port 17, refer to DAT-LINE. For
errors associated with ports 1-16 refer to ANN-PT.
NOTE:
TN750C is required if the system has multiple ann ouncement boards. To
use multiple announcement b oards, you must have V4 or later software,
and at least one TN750C (up to ten are allowed). O nly one TN750A/B may
be present in the system when a TN750C is used. The announc ements
from a TN750A/B can be saved and restored to a TN750C — but once the
announcements are recorded onto a TN750C, they are not backward
compatible with the TN750A/B.

Essential Service Information

You should have an understanding of the following principles b efore attempting
work on the TN750/B Announcement circuit p ack.
NOTE:
The TN750C Announcement circuit pac k has on-board non-volatile storage
and does not need to b e saved to disk.
The announcement circuit pac k retains all integrated announc ements

as

long as the circuit p ack has power

. Announcements are preserved
through a software reset (reset board command), b ut they are lost when
the circuit pac k is unseated. (Unseating is gener ally not recommended
unless replacement is necess ary.)
