!WARNING:

If the Expansion Interface (EI) circuit p ack you are troubleshooting is

associated with a Survivable Remote EPN (SREPN), before the SREPN can

be returned to normal servic e, all LAPD EI link problems must be cleared ,

and the SREPN slide switch on the TN2301 (located in the SRPPN carrier)

must be manually set to the normal position . See ‘‘Restoring Normal

Service to the SREPN’’ on page 9-788 in this section.

The TN570 or the TN776 Expansion Interface (EI) Circuit Pack provides a TDM
and Packet bus to fiber inter face for the communication of sig naling information,
circuit switched connections, and pac ket switch connections b etween endpoints
residing in separate p ort networks. EI Circuit Packs are located in the Processor
Port Network (PPN) or in Expansion Port Networks (EPNs) and are connected via
optical fiber links. An EI can be connected to:
