If CDR Link Maintenance cannot restore the CDR link, the maintenance tes ts of
these individual comp onents of the CDR link must be executed to diagnose
faults.
Procedures for Restoring the CDR Link
1. Determine the status of CDR links.
Enter status cdr command and make sure that the CDR links are not
busied out for maintenance. If the li nk is down, then continue to the next
step.
2. Where does the CDR link connect to?
Enter display system feature and find out the d estinations of CDR links.
Continue to the next step.
3. Enter the status data extension command and verify whether th e data
extension is in the in-service/idle state . If the data extension is
not
available, then look for the extension numbe r in the Alt Name field of the
Hardw are Er ror Lo g and refe r to "XXX-B D (Com mon Po rt Cir cuit Pack )" for
resolutions.
4. Is the external CDR output device availa ble?
Make sure that the CDR output device is on -line and ready for servic e.
Check the physical c onnectivity between Data Mod ule and the CDR
output device.
5. If the problem is not found in th e above steps, chec k the system port for
any problems. Refer to the PDATA-PT section for for descrip tion about
system port and its c onnectivity.
When restoring the CDR link it is necessary to execute maintena nce test on
different objects that co mprise the CDR link. It is recommended tha t you busy out
the CDR link before trying to restore the link. When the CDR Link is busied out,
then all CDR Link maintenance actions are deac tivated, and interference to te sts
